University of Maryland University College Asia - Distance Education
Distance Education - Proctored Exam Early/Late Procedures
All Distance Education students are required to take a proctored exam for each 10 week course in which they are enrolled. Visit the Asia DE Website Session Calendar link for specific Proctored Exam dates.

Failure to take the mandatory proctored exam for a course will result in an Fn grade being issued for that course.

Early/Late Procedure:

NOTE: Students testing early or late must not use the Asia DE Proctored Exam Reservation System to schedule their appointment to test.

Students who need to test early or late:

  • IMPORTANT: Students testing late must first meet the criteria for an "Incomplete" ("I") grade. See our The Grade of "I" policy for criteria.
  • Obtain an e-mail from your instructor(s) granting permission
  • Contact your local UMUC Asia/Europe field site/proctor well in advance to make your appointment to take the proctored exam outside of the scheduled proctored exam week (Week 10)
  • Students must present their instructor's "permission" e-mail to their proctor before being allowed to test.
  • Please note, it is the student's responsibility to arrange for an available testing time.
  • If students do not make arrangements well in advance, exams may not be available at their desired time.

For more information, please see our detailed proctored exam procedures, or email Proctored Exam Administrator or call DSN 225-3696. For other information, please see our contact list.
