Students who cannot test at a UMUC Field Site in Asia/Europe may test with an alternate proctor.

The following are guidelines for selecting an alternate proctor.

An acceptable proctor is someone who can communicate in English, has no conflict of interest in upholding UMUC's policy related to Plagiarism and Academic Dishonesty and who can provide or is located in an appropriate testing environment where certifying student identification is possible.

Acceptable Proctors include:

• Military education offices worldwide*
• Testing centers at 2 or 4 year colleges and universities
• Commercial learning/tutoring centers
• County/state fire training academies*
• Corporate education centers*

*Access to these sites may be restricted. It is your responsibility to check before submitting alternate site proctor requests

If none of the above locations are accessible, the following individuals, pending approval, can serve as proctors:

• Military chaplains
• Faculty or staff members at local universities
• Military commissioned officers of higher rank than the student
• Senior non-commissioned officers of higher rank than the student
• Librarian, whose job responsibilities include proctoring exams
• Faculty or staff members at K-12 public and private schools (high schools)

Unacceptable Proctors include:

• Relatives
• Friends
• Neighbors
• Co-workers
• Places of worship
• Residences

After selecting an appropriate proctor based on the above guidelines, please fill in the following information:

This form is for requesting an alternate proctor only. If you need to test outside of the scheduled proctored exam period, you will need permission from your instructor and present the "permission" email to your proctor before you can test.
